Re: hey denise.. got a quick question
Are you ladies 'chemical peel' regulars? I've never had one before...luckily I've been blessed with perfect skin. I get MAYBE five pimples a year, usually right under my chin bone....other than that, my skin is regular (not oily or dry) and never has any problems. Would a chemical peel be worth it for me? What does it do and does it hurt??

ive never had one, but saw they do it at the dermatologists office when i went. I used to have perfect skin but right now i have a hormonal imbalance which causes even more problems than just my skin and have to undergo treatment for it, but in a way im happy considering i had to take a bunch of other tests bc they thought i had internal bleeding or cysts on my uterus

i never had a chemical peel, more interested in facials... i heard mixed reviews about peels that it leaves your skin raw.. i heard microdermabrasion is much better.
your very lucky you have a good skin...
i have breakouts.. not too bad..but stress aggrevates it... unforunately.. alot of stress for me lately.

they'll probably put you on Duac, it is great-since i went in july i didnt break out, only recently when i kept falling asleep without putting it on. Now im obviously using it again every night and its fine. However, first i have to go to labs and do tests and be put on medication for the hormonal imbalance, its hard bc the labs are open on weekdays but close early. I hope once im on treatment for that it will be better

OMG Denise, I'm so sorry to hear about this! How does hormonal imbalances come about? Were your tests for internal bleeding and cysts negative? They thought I had cysts once too and at the OBGYN they gave me this horrible 'vinegar' test that makes me cringe 'til this day when I think about it!

and kristina? if you get 5 pimples a year why would you even consider a chemcial peels i wouldnt even consider it. And actually ppl who get it dont use it bc they have pimples, usually ppl who are older and want their skin to look smooth and shiny again.

I have never really considered one actually....a friend recently told me she goes for them and has a certificate for a friend to use and asked if I wanted it.....she defintely gets more pimples than me though. It sounds painful though!

really wow i dont know too many young women who do chemical peels. I think they're better now than they used to be but i remember when my aunt used to get them and you cant leave your house for days bc your face is SOOOO red and sore. Remember the SATC episode where samantha shows up at a party after a chemical peels and people got scared
