Hey Dyson girls!!!

I'm going to add one to my registry. Looking for some suggestions on the best one. We have all wood floors, some hallway rugs and a very furry cat

BTW I was gonna put the DC24 on the registry b/c it's $399 (versus $499 for the one above), but in person it's really tiny and looks cheesy. Doubt it works that well. The DC25 (pictured above) is the standard model with the orange ball.

Do all Dysons have a Carpet & Bare Floor option? If not make sure it does.

We have the good ol standard yellow version. LOVE that thing. FI is in love with vacuuming now. hahhaha.

We have I guess the regular yellow Dyson without the ball. My mom actually gave us hers after she bought it and hated it. She said it didn't work nearly as well as her old hoover (the cord got destroyed on it and she bought a Dyson thinking it would be an upgrade then hated it). She has mostly carpet with some wood and tile but she really got it for the carpet and to pick up dog hair.

It did a really poor job of picking up the dog hair and the weirdest part is it totally DOES loose suction! The ONE big claim they make is completely untrue (at least for the vacuum we own)! Once the chamber gets even a small collection of pet hair (or whatever) the suction goes WAY down and you have to empty it way more than a regular vacuum. It's also pretty messy to empty (I feel like I should have a mask on, there's always a poof of gross dust that comes out no matter how much I try to contain it).

All in all, I feel that this is a completely overrated and overpriced product. It works fine for FH and I, but our house is pretty clean to start off, we have no pets (yet), no kids and we don't wear shoes in here, so there's really very little for it to vacuum anyway.

Mine kinda broke too. Its still usable, but its clear something is wrong and Dyson won't look at it which is pretty sh*tty for a $400 product. Its only one year old!! I just think the warranty should be better for such an expensive item.

can't go wrong with Hoover. They are the best.
