Re: Hey futuremrsmultari!
Hey girls! Thanks for asking!
We left Friday night around 8:30. We got in a bit of traffic but had a great ride there. We just chatted and enjoyed each others company the whole way. We got there around midnight. The Holiday Inn in York was really, really nice. We hung out a bit and went to bed.
We woke up Saturday and went to breakfast. We got to Hershey around 11:30. It was insanely hot and the lines were awful. BUT we made the best of it. We did a few rides, walked around a lot and just had a great time with each other. We went on the chocolate tour and all that good stuff. It was just sooooooooooooo hot. We left Hershey around 9 and went back to the hotel. We went out for a nice, very late dinner and then came back to the hotel and relaxed and passed out.
On Sunday we left the hotel and just drove towards Lancaster/Amish Country. We stopped at a few shops, had lunch and just had a relaxed ride back. We got home around 7:30 last night.
It really wasn't too eventful but it was perfect. I've been feeling rather 'numb' since my father passed away and it was nice to just feel relaxed, peaceful and calm again. I enjoyed every moment with FH and that has been hard lately. It was perfect.
We decided we'll do a weekend getaway every 2 months or so. We needed this more than anything.
I'm so happy!

Re: Hey futuremrsmultari!
Sounds like a great time! Glad you had fun.
My family always went away on weekend vacations when I was young, and I loved it. FH and I do it when we can, too - and we are lucky because both of our families have some kind of vacation home we can use for free. I am definitely going to instill the weekend getaway idea in my kids too!

We were right by the outlets but didn't stop...we did so much walking on Saturday that I didn't really feel like it...instead we went to some of the Amish gift shops...

Re: Hey futuremrsmultari!
Im glad you had a good time and got to relax.
We always find that going on a weekend trip is great for getting your mind off things for a bit.
You should also try Baltimore. We did a day trip once when we need to 'forget and de-stress'. It was really nice.
