This site is getting addicting !!! Any ideas on when you guys are gonna start shopping for the dress? I was thinking 9 months prior, but others told me I should start eariler. Are you concerned that styles may change?

Bridal stores have told me it can take anywhere from 8-10 months for your dress to come in. I always tell them one month earlier. If you are getting married in October tell them your wedding is in September...just to make sure they will have it in time. I have already tried a bunch on and I havent even booked yet. But the dress is very important because it takes awhile and its an important decision, so I would start asap!!! and have fun with it. If you save it to last minute you may get frusterated.

I wanted to start looking during the christmas break for fun. But i have some weight to lose first. So i'll probably start looking come April which will be the 1 year mark.

I'm going to start in January my MOH is in Korea now , I am waiting for her to come back to the states so that we can go together. I can't wait to try on dresses

I'll probably start looking next summer after my MOH gets back from Amsterdam. Plus, it'll give me plenty of time to lose weight.

A woman at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa told me it may take 12 months to order???? And allows 2 to 3 months for alteration. I thought that was wild. But maybe they say that to be on the safe side. If I get married in July I think I'll start looking Jan/ Feb. But that tan always makes white look prettier

That sounds a bit long to me...?
I started trying on dresses already...but just to get an idea of the style that I want. Nothing serious yet...I'll probably start looking (seriously) this summer...

I think I've heard 6-9 months is enough time....(then again, I've never done it, so I'm not 100% sure)

I am actually going this weekend. I went a few weeks ago also to bridal reflections and saw a couple of gowns i liked. everyone is telling me to start as soon as possible cause it can take up to 1 year to get a gown once you order it.

My wedding is not until 2009 but I had went dress shopping and found 'the one'. I will order it and have it stored. Even though styles may change I am set on the dress.(no changing)
