hey girls its been a while but weddings ove and still need your help

So a week before the wedding I lost my job

Ive been looking for jobs and there nothing b/c of this economy. Im thinking of going back to school to be a medical biller. Just wondering if any of you have done this or no anything about it??

Any info would be great

i used to do medical billing, its not hard, and IMO those schools dont teach you anything you can't learn by working in the field.

there are plenty of jobs at doctors offices, i would start there. get your foot in, then you could maybe work in the billing dept.

but to warn you, medical billing isn't that much fun! it is tedious, nothing is ever uniform, every insurance co is different, patient collections is a nightmare, insurance collections is even worse.

i didn't hate it, but i like working as a receptionist so much better....what i do now is a little bit different than being a receptionist, but i thought medical billing was boring.

and i also used to hire girls to work in the office i used to work at and we wouldnt hire girls who graduated from those schools, but thats not to say nobody does, it was just my old bosses preference. but she was a nasty beeotch so maybe her judgement was blurred!

hhahah oh ok... well Ive been looking and looking for receptionist jobs and noone is hiring so that was my next option

go on craigslist!!!! there are MILLIONS, and there is one in smithtown i just saw. its part time, but its better than nothing!

Danielle.... the past 2 weeks ive ben on craigslist.. half are scams and the other half I cant even get an interview its horrible

Try looking on http://www.nyc.gov or craigslist for listings. I was unemployed for approx. five months at one point when I was going through a change of career. I understand it can be very difficult looking for work. See if you can find p/t work and gain experience by interning and see if it works for you. This way you can try it out w/o committing to it and see if it's right for you. If it's not, you can always leave the internship. It's much harder to leave a job.

i know how you feel. I've been struggling for almost two years without a job. I have sent out literally thousands and thousands of quality resumes and cover letters. Craigslist always seems like mostly scams to me and any other method I use, I just feel ignored because I never hear anything back. Good luck! You are not alone.

I am in the same boat, been unemployed since I graduated in May, i am subbing but its horrible and so unsteady.

I hate Craigs List... I once got an interview that was at a house, of course I didn't go. I am not stupid. i don't trust it, there is nothing monitoring it.

thanks girls Im glad Im not alone here. Its so frustrating bc ive been looking like crazy every day I sit my *** in front of the computer and search for jobs. Theres is nothing ive sent my resume to over 50 people and didnt get not one interview. Its horrible we should be saving for a house and now what we want has to be put on hold :(
