I know its only open M-F, not weekends.
I think you can bring your passport and your DL.

you MUST MUST MUST bring your birth certificate with the raised seal.
i think its stupid, cause a passport should be enough for proof of birth...but it isn't. just click the link above for Planning and NYS Marriage License Requirements and it will tell you.
Edit: here is the info from NYS:
Proof of Age and Identity A person is required to establish proof of age and identity by submitting to the issuing clerk one of the following age related documents:
Birth Certificate Baptismal record Naturalization record Census record
And one of the following identity related documents:
Driver's license Passport Employment picture ID Immigration record Familial Restrictions

Valid forms of identification are as follows:
Driver's license (from the United States or one of its territories)
Non-driver's identification card (from the United States or one of its territories)
Learner's permit from New York State only
Active duty United States military identification card
Passport
United States certificate of naturalization (issued within the past ten years)
United States permanent resident card with valid expiration date
United States employment authorization card with valid expiration date

maybe it's different per town? i just got back from city hall in queens and we only had to show them our drivers licenses. my license is now in my hand!! (although it would have been nice if they'd printed it on official looking certificate paper, instead of plain old white paper!)
oh, and they're only open mon-fri. you can look up the requirements and hours online, just google your town and marriage certificate.

I got mine at the Town of North Hempstead...
We showed our birth certificates and passports.... so not sure if you MUST have the birth certificate, but it was enough ID for us.

The city rules are different, you dont need a birth certificte to get a marriage license in NYC-which doesnt really make sense since you can use that marriage license in LI any anywhere else, but thats the beauty of government beauracracy
