Hey Mets fans

Not sure how true this is but I just heard that the Mets got Benson and Zambrano. Not sure of all the details yet and who knows if they are going to move one of them right away in another trade. But it looks like the Mets are GREATLY improving their starting rotation.

Vincent Zambrano for Casmir and Dias.
Benson for Wigginton and Peterson.

I believe the official deals are:

Kazmir & Diaz for Zambrano

Wiggington / Huber / Peterson for Benson and I believe Keppinger.

I am torn between this. The Peterson trade (if they sign him to an extension) is doable.

But Kazmir was their hot left handed starting prospect. Zambrano better f'in DELIVER or else that trade will PISS ME OFF.

This really makes the Randy Johnson sweepstakes even more interesting because the Mets now swiped up the #2 and #3 best starting pitchers that were available on the market.

Johnson is the only real starter available now.

The Benson trade seems like a good trade. Even if they don't resign him it's the only chance the Mets have to get this division. Plus I heard that Benson stated earlier that he would sign with the Mets.

The Zambrano deal seems like a bad deal. This guy has a lot of problems with control. And I heard the comment well he has a winning record on a bad team so he might do better for the Mets. I hate to be the one to point this out but... the Mets record is no better then the Devil Rays. So who's to say that he'll do better for the Mets? I think the Mets gave up too much for him and they don't need him since they got Benson. I wonder if they are going to move him right away though?

I don't think Johnson is going anywhere. Unless he agrees to the Angels.

I think Johnson is going to LA and Penny is gonna get shipped to Arizona.

Rick Petersen must see something in Zambrano's wildness that he can 'correct'.

I mean... look what he did with DeJean so far. That guy SUCKED in Baltimore. Same with Glavine this year among others.

The Mets don't have one of the best ERAs in MLB for nothing.

Well, destpite the fact that they are six games out -- close to 7 if tonight keeps up going the way it's going, I think Duquette sent a good message to the fans in showing that he wants to give them a shot to be contenders.

Hopefully it's not too late
