Hey Oct2004Bride... I hope you can still cancel all those D-Back orders you probably placed for Wally Backman Jerseys, Hats, and such. Because I am sure you must have became a huge fan when you first heard of the hiring.


But now if you stopped being a Met Fan because they traded Wally... i can only imagine your hatred for Arizona now. Hahahahaha.

Does this mean you will have to pick an even DIFFERENT team to root for this year?

But I know how it can make it real easy for ya.

Maybe he can come to the Yanks and be the third Musketter in the newly formed Gooden/Strawberry/Backman 'Drink em or smoke em if you got 'em' club.

Well that is just pathetic. The D'Backs look like a bunch of turds with this, hiring and firing in 4 days

And the Mets are MUCH better off with a YANKEE FOREVER -- Willie Randolph. Just wait, he'll wind up being the best manager that motley crew every had

And I will not speak for Oct2004Bride -- she can hold her own Yet I'm sure Jen will stay a Yankee fan , as she is now. She's seen how good it is to be a WINNER, after all

LOLOL...hey it was the after shock from being on the dreaded METS TEAM!

I feel bad for the guy. Let's face it all of them have done stupid crap at one point or another. So to freak out about it and lose a perfectly great coach is their loss.

PS- i was staying a Yankee fan either way!

You know I actually did a little more reading into this.

Now I know exactly why the Mets decided to just 'let him walk' and pursue the Arizona job. The Mets probably already knew about these issues and didn't want to get involved.... but they also did the classy thing by not smearing his name saying that was the reason why they didn't hire him.

Poor guy indeed. He is screwed.

Well yes it was gracious of the Mets..or was it really. They had to have known this would come out eventually. I even knew about the DUI. I mean really if i knew about that, so should have everyone else!

I heard about that. What a dunbass. I wonder if they can dock his pay for that like the Yanks did to Aaron Boone.

If he broke terms of his contract they can. Every team has certain terms in the contracts as to what players can do in their spare time. If he wasn't allowed to play another sport they can dock his pay.

Like docking his pay is going to really hurt him.
