Re: Hey Shorty!

you are the SWEETEST!!!

He went for a bandage change yesterday - his stiches are draining sooo much, which is a good thing.

He seems to have more control over his bladder now (the first 2 days he was home, he had no bladder control and was peeing EVERYWHERE )

AND he was BEGGING FOR A TREAT this morning! That's gotta be a good sign, right?

He's not eating much yet, but according to the vet, thats normal. His surgery was just last Friday, and it was pretty major (stomach, intestines, etc.).

The poor little guy - his stiches must be SO itchy - it's a good thing he's bandaged so much, 'cause he scratching SO BADLY! I try to help him out and rub hus tummy gently so he stops scratching...

but he's being such a good dog. He takes his antibiotic pill with no problems, and just needs lots of rest.

I have a feeling I'll have my old doggy back in NO TIME!

Stitches come out Monday.

Lucille, thank you so so much for asking!!!

And please, everyone, see my warning on the pet board. Kong toys are NOT indestructible! If my little 18lb dog can bite off and ingest chunks, I can't imagine what a larger/stronger dog can do!

There's no such thing as a boring dog story! So glad to hear he's felling better!

When my lab was 10 months old, he had to have reconstructive surgery on his shoulders - so he had two surgeries, 4 weeks apart - -- the second one was on his first birthday. I was a mess! I couldn't eat, sleep, think, work - - - anything, you name it! Until I had him home with me, I couldn't even function! So I definitely understand your situation (actually, yours was worse, because they didn't know what was wrong with him).

Yeah for Gizmo!!!!!
