Hey-was anyone in Douglaston for PreCana yesterday?
We were- they were 41 other couples, jsut wondering if they were any other LIW girls there...I actually ran into a friend who is getting married after me- very weird! But it made the day more bearable!
No, seriously it wasnt so bad...a little pointless but not bad...

Ummm,its a class Catholic couples have to take before being aloud to get married in church. Its supposed to teach us about different aspects of marriage....

ohh. I heard it before but didn't know what it was. Fh thought it was something religious jews did before marriage. I am thinking we are jews shouldn't we know that??

No, seriously it wasnt so bad...a little pointless but not bad...
I was there also, we came around 9 40 ish..and they sat us right smack in the front area of where John, Mary & father Peter was. It was not as boring as other couples told me it would have been. Glad, that we completed it. The was delicous.

I wasn't there, but I have a question. Do you have to do precana at the church you are getting married in? My fiance and I just moved to Douglston and want to do precana close to where we live. We are getting married at my parent's church in Huntington though. Does it matter?

The best way to find out is to call the church where you're getting married, some of them want you to do it there, some won't care. They should tell you what they require.

That is correct!!! We only did ours in Douglaston...because it was the closest one to where we lived. Our church does not do precana.

Us too- we did it there b/c of the date, all at our church were bad dates, plus we live in suffolk but church is in ridgewood,queens- so douglaston was the closest to us...most curch's dont care, but ask anyway...

You only had PreCana for one day. Or did I read wrong? Some churches have these for some weeks at a time? Or you went to a weekend Precana?

no you read it right- it was a one day one-930-430 but it really ended around 345
