Hi everyone! I have been reading these boards for several weeks now and thought that I would say hi and actually start contributing. I got engaged on May 16 in Central Park and we just booked Westbury Manor and the Community Church of East Williston for May 7, 2006 I am from Maryland so planning a wedding in NYC is quite overwhelming but I just want to thank you all for the help you have already given me so far and I look forward to sharing ideas and getting help in the year to come.

I am from Ocean City. I guess a little misunderstanding. I am living in Queens now (Astoria) but am originally from OC. I was making a comment on how much more overwhelming NYC is than tiny little OCMD. Too many choices:

Oh, i see now! I thought you were living in MD and planning a wedding in LI like me. No such luck! I love Ocean City. I'm hoping to get a chance to go this summer.

I got engaged in Central Park too on November 14 on our 5 year Anniversary. Wasn't it really romantic? It's too bad we were rushed though and couldn't really sit there and enjoy the moment. The limo driver was double parked and calling my FH on his cell phone while he was down on 1 knee about to propose. I really wish I had a picture of that moment, it was really special.

Hi...I am also a wedding newbe although I have been engaged for a while. My fiance and I also live in Maryland. I am finding it extremely difficult to plan this wedding from out of state, so I feel for you.

Our date is Sept 3, 2006 and so far all I have is the Hall, DJ and Church (sort of) so dont worry...everything will work out.

Oh....I just read that you live in Queens...welcome anyway and have fun planning!!!!

How long have you been planning? It looks like youve got a lot done...
