Hi girls, i hope you don't mind me crashing your board. I just had a quick question. My friend is getting married next year on 07/07/07. Where should she be in her planning? She's worried she's behind and I keep assuring her she's not...so figured I would get some other opinions!

Well, there are a lot of 07' girls getting married on that date and have almost all the major vendors booked already.
I am getting married in May and have all the major things booked & dress ordered. For me, I wanted to get as much done as possible so I can have the summer to relax.
07/07/07 is a really popular date that is the only thing.

I'm 5/26 and nothing except the hall and my dress. She'll be fine. Sometimes I feel like the planning on these boards is in fast forward compared to people I know in real life.

hey Katie girl! Just make sure she gets her hall first and then the rest pretty fast.. only reason I am saying that is because that is a VERY popular date!!

I have eveything booked except limos. It's been this way for a few months. I am trying to get little things out of the way now.

I got engaged on 1-1-06 and started looking for RH shortly after that. A bunch of them were already booked. I would suggest getting that first. She's not far behind, she has over a year, it's just a popular date.
I'm an organizational control freak and I have all but one vendor booked, so you can't really go by me.
FYI...There are a few 7-7-07 threads out there. Good luck to your friend. Hope to see her here!

Thanks ladies! She has a lot longer engagement then me and I'm a bit of a control freak (and her MOH) so I just wanted to see where everyone was, especially since I know it's a popular date.
So far she only has the church and the place (CLM). I think I need to encourage her to start looking at photo/video and dj.

Im getting married 7/21 and we have our hall, church, video, photographer, DJ and dress... we really just have limos and flowers which we are doing soon.

It's a really popular date so I would tell your friend to get started fast because otherwise she might not get her first pick of vendors. In December 05' I went to a hall to reserve it for my 7/7/07 wedding and they were already booked!

I have heard from a few vendors that it is a very popular date next year. She should really get herself looking, especially RH, Limos - I heard 3 LIWers already booked for that date, etc. I wouldnt wait if I were her. All my major vendors are bookedd as well. Unfortunately, negotiating might be rough. I have heard from a few vendors, that -I will book 07/07/07 with or without you-. Not exactly in those terms, but we dont have a lot of bargaining power in some cases, so I would advise that she get started. Because I am sure there will be more and more 07/07/07-ers

i would definitely tell her to get on the photog and dj only because my friend is getting married that date and already couldn't get her first choice dj and photog cause they were already booked
