Re: hi!

I went to a wedding at the North Ritz club last Oct. It was real nice. The cocktail hour was in a nice size room. She also had a really good vienese (oops think i spelled that right) hour.

Re: hi!

I had to respond since those were all of my favorites.

1- Carlyle - LOVE it!! If my future sister and brother in law weren't married there it would be my first choice. I have nothing but wonderful things to say. The food, ambiance, service all excellent. Extremely elegant.

2- North Ritz Club - This is most likely where my reception will be. It is very classy and beautiful. The gardens are pretty and you can have an outdoor cocktail hour if the weather is nice. I have been to a wedding here and the food and service was excellent. I love that it's one wedding at a time. All the staff have been very helpful so far! The prices are reasonable too even for a saturday night.

3- Flowerfields - Flowerfields is beautiful. The grounds are spectacular as is the atrium for the cocktail hour. I was a little disapointed with the actual ballroom considering you spend most of your time there. It was pretty plain and a little small. Still an incredible place to have a wedding! It was quite pricey, especially for a saturday night (185)

4. Land End - The food, service and view are spectacular. I seriously considered Lands End but was again a little diappointed in the ballroom. It is pretty plain but the view is amazing. It was 180 for a saturday night.

5. Watermill - The watermill is awesome. I have been to weddings here and enjoyed myself so much. As i was looking at reception halls they were so helpful and accomodating. I have a pet peeve with more than one wedding at a time so I eliminated them for that reason. I did consider it though because you have your own floor. They were very reasonable for all you get. 130 for a saturday night.

6. Westbury Manor - the gardens were gorgeous! I heard the food and service are spectacular but there is more than one wedding at a time. The prices were good!

Hope this helps!

I'm looking to book my wedding for Nov/Dec 2007 - I have an appt. w/North Ritz on Friday. From what I hear, it's a great place....but I'll have to see for myself.

Re: hi!

thanks!

I made appointments to see Carlyle, North Ritz and Flowerfield

Anyone know the price ranges? I know Carlyle and Flowerfield are expensive and that North Ritz is much more reasonably priced but I have heard AMAZING things about Carlyle that right now it is my first choice- even if I can't have Saturday night. Do you think it is worth the extra money- why are some halls so much more than others- are they really that much better and offer more?

I am hoping to say under 150pp for a Sat. night. Worse comes to worse I will move to Friday or Sunday night to be at the place I love the most.

I visited Carlyle and Flowerfield our of the ones you mentioned----LOVED Carlyle on the Green... it is very elegant.. i hear the food is great too. I thought the cocktail hour room was a bit small which forces them to spread it out into the hallway area.. I loved the ballroom and the ceremony room. I think I was quoted $185 for a saturday night in June... so February is def a bit cheaper... Flowerfield I think for sat night i was quoted $180..again Feb should be cheaper..I loved the grounds and cocktail hour room and i heard the food is amazing & you get so much. But like someone said above.. the ballroom is basically a plain white room with long windows. And I think you have to have chair covers.. and I don't like chair covers. If their ballroom looked like the cocktail hour room I may have booked it! I've been to a rehearsal dinner at Westbury manor and that was nice. I don't think it has the ambiance of carlyle or flowerfield though. Good luck in your search! And to add.. I think with reception halls.. you do get what you pay for.. some places will give you a ton of food.. but it might not be the BEST quality....not that it is bad.. but i think you can see the difference in a spread like carlyle or flowerfield type places compared to places that charge less than $100/pp.... I'm not putting those places down.. that is just how i feel.

I just looked at the Carlyle on The Green yesterday. It was very nice looking, but IMO very expensive. I was quoted $155pp for a Friday night in April (the date I was looking at in March was already booked). They also add on a 20% gratuity (every other place I've looked at added on an 18%) and this price did not include valet service, which the guy i spoke to said would be about another $750. And you have to guarantee 200 people. (and if you were looking to get a viennese, that would be another $15pp)

Very nice grounds, and I'm sure the food is spectacular, but too much $$ for me!

Hi Sue,

I don't have any information on those catering halls but I do want to rave about my catering hall - Giorgio's

Beautiful Facility. You can have your ceremony here outside in the gardens or have it inside.

You have 3 locations to take your pictures: In the gardens, on the golf course which has a water fountain and on the beach!.
