Hi everyone. I'm new here. I just got engaged in December and I know I'm going to be needing help! My fh and I are going to start to look for RH this weekend. We are going to WCC, Crest Hollow, JT, Watermill, North Ritz Club so far..Not all this weekend. I was thinking about going to WCC Tomorrow. Is it too short notice to make an appt today?? and what do i do if im not too sure i want my wedding there? do they pencil you in?? not sure how this all works. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you all so much!!!

Re: Hi! I'm new
Welcome!!!!
And congrats!!!
I can help you out on is the North Ritz Club... that was one of the best weddings I have EVER been too!
I have also been to the Watermill and that was a great wedding, but I was in the bridal party so we missed the cocktail hour... but I heard it was amazing!
This is what FH and I did... EVERY hall we went to... we told them it was our FIRST hall that we were looking at so that we would obviously need to look around a little more, but that we will need to go home and review...
Good Luck!

Re: Hi! I'm new
welcome! you can call up the hall you want to visit and when they can see you, usually calling the day before or the day of is enough time unless they are very very busy. i would say do NOT book a place on your first visit. at least sleep on it. most likey they will pencil your date in, but dont let them pressure by telling you that someone can come in and take your date. good luck in your search for the hall of your dreams! i am sure you will find liw very helpful in your planning. let the addiction begin!

Thank you all so much. I already love this place. I've been looking through all the boards for a while b/f i decided to join. Thanks for the advice on saying that this is the first place etc..that sounds like a great idea!!! I hate to be pressured.

Congrats on your engagement and welcome to the boards!
Enjoy looking at RH, but like others said, don't let them pressure you into booking. When you find the hall that's right for you and FH, you'll know!

Re: Hi! I'm new
the appointment time is going to vary from hall to hall. on average i think i spent approximately an hour in each hall. the more questions you ask, the longer it's going to take. but you can also go back as often as you want, especially when you're trying to narrow your choices down. take your time in each of them. we visited both woodbury cc and crest hollow. both have very nice outdoor areas if you're interested in an outdoor ceremony.

Re: Hi! I'm new
That is the reason I love WCC an CHCC (the outside area) but I'm getting married in a Church so the inside is just as important. I see that your having your reception at Jericho Terrace. My FH and I love that place and we are looking at that last. THanks for the help!

Re: Hi! I'm new
welcome and congratulations!!! some halls you make an appointment and some halls are walk in. i got a list of all the reception halls i wanted to see, got their phone # and just called one by one to see if they were walk-in or i had to make an appointment
there are soo many beautiful wedding reception sites on Long island so dont be limited! i saw about 8-9 Reception Halls before i booked. Compare and contrast what your getting, the price, and stuff...good luck and happy planning!!!
here are some other halls:
Leonards of Great Neck Sands of Atlantic Beach Floral Terrace Sand Castle Crescent Beach Club Venetian Yacht Club Flowerfield Chateu Le Mar Tall Grass Country Club The Riveria
...and the list goes on

Re: Hi! I'm new
Well i know the lingo b/c i post on LIF under the teachers chat. I also have been reading some posts on LIW to get an idea of which RH i would like to visit. Since I'm going this weekend ( finally) i decided to join. I see how much help all of you are and i know i will need some help. And of course I will help others too when I'm more into the swing of things!lol
