Hi, my name is Christine

and I have a scrapbook supply shopping problem

I have enough cardstock to wallpaper my bedroom a la Hildi style from Trading Spaces.

And more patterened paper then I could use in a lifetime.

I spent part of the afternoon pulling out papers to the church for the crop next weekend and I almost kept the blue hawiian flower printed paper for when we go to Hawaii. Mind you, we have no plans to go there for the next 5 or 10 years

Now would also be the time to confess to re-ordering a kit from QVC and the fact that I need one piece of vellum to finish a swap for LM.

Hi Christine,

My name is Nory I've been scrapbooking for less than 6 months. I have more 12x12 paper than I know what to do with it. I can't pass up a scrapbooking sale. I've been known to spend over $200 in 1 day. My buddies who are into scrapbooking ask me for supplies. I have a supportive family and boyfriend who when they see something they either pick up for me or tell me to go. I am usually broke because I spend all my money on scrapbooking. I want to go to one of the crops you guys talk about but I have to either take the LIRR and then a cab OR finally give in and get my drivers license!

Hi Christine & Nory-I'm Kelly. I started officially scrapping 1 year ago & I'm sure I've spent thousands of dollars. I have HUNDREDS of Jolees, stickers & other embellishments but yet I'm constantly searching for more!
I keep saying I will use up what I have before I buy more but I just can't

Hi my name is michelle. My MIL and I are both Paper Sluts. We can't help ourselves, especially when a sale comes along.

Even though we share supplies, I think it makes it worse. MIL bought me a cropper for my bday and then last monday saw a really nice one on QVC and bought that for me too. She figured one I can use for storage and the other for crops.

I really need help.

Hi my name is Fran, and I am very afraid.

I have decided to start scrapping. I have been to those 'craft stores' and the 'secret bargin scrapper supply stores' stocking up on things like paper, books, glue, trimmers, pens, stickers, templetes etc etc but I havent done one page yet!

I have been reading posts about these out of control ladies who have a scrapping problem. It has me very concerned.

Hi, my name is Lisa and I have a sticker obession. I own stickers for every occassion, event, trip, etc. you can think of. If it is cheap and I like it I buy it even though I know that I will never use it.

So, My name is Lisa and I have a sticker problem.

My name is Jodi and I am glad to see that I am not the only one with a problem. I was just looking over my bank statements and I went to Michaels and A.C. Moore A LOT last month. I just keep buying and buying. I have not scrapped in a while, but have tons of supplies.

Re: Hi, my name is Christine

Hi, my name is Karen. Against my better judgement, I started buying scrapbooking supplies. I've managed to do 2 pages, and have enough supplies to do 200. I have tools I haven't even taken out of the box.

Worse yet, this is only one of my craft obsessions. Should we talk about the 5 large plastic storage tubs full of knitting yarns and easily 50 sets of knitting needles and an equal number of knitting books? How about the quilting fabrics stacked on the shelf, or the 5 or 6 cross stitch kits waiting to be started. And my craft room looks like the floral section at Michaels, with all the flowers I bought when I took a silk floral design class. And we can't forget the years of knitting magazines.

In the knitting world, we talk about our stash and lovingly refer to it as our YRA or Yarn Retirement Account. I look at it this way, when I'm retired I won't have to decide between crafts and prescriptions because I'll have a big stash of craft supplies to choose from! We also talk about HALFPINTS - Have a Lovely Fantasy Project - I've No Time!

I've know knitters to talk about how they hide yarn at work or in the trunk of their car so their husbands won't know they bought more. So if you haven't fallen to that level, you haven't hit bottom yet!

No we shouldn't talk about those things at all. Then I would feel compelled to mention my candy making/baking/ceramics/other painting/soap making, etc and so on. It's best left in the tubs, closests and store rooms where they can't hurt anyone

Re: Hi, my name is Christine

I guess I don't have to mention the dozen or so boxes of beads and jewelry making supplies that I kept when I closed my jewelry design business either. Actually, I'm trying to figure out how I can bundle some of that to sell on E-bay - just gotta make the time to do it.

If I can find a few extra minutes to sort through some I'll try to bring some to the crop on Saturday to share - they might make some nice embellishments.

Re: Hi, my name is Christine

Ok, if we dont mention all those hidden supplies I wont tell you about the 5 moving boxes of craft items that mysteriously found there way to our house. Poor DH, He kept saying 'whats in those boxes? Where did you have them in the Co Op?' Men, they just dont understand.
