Hi to all the 2008 brides

Hey everyone

Hope you are all having a good day. I'm glad there are 2008 brides on here and I'm not alone
I feel silly sometimes but I can't help but be excitied about it even tho I have a loooooong way to go.

Hi..I felt the same way. I was so glad to see there are chat pages for 2008 brides! We are saving and trying to do most of it ourselves. It is amazing, but there is a lot of planning to do and thank goodness we have time! I am sooo excited to! Good Luck with your planning!

Hi ... Congratulations on your up coming wedding . I know what you mean about doin it all yourself. I decided to make my own invitations since there will only be about 55 - 60 guests.

I am doing my own invitations too! We will proababy have about 100 guests, but I am looking forward to making them. At least once everything is booked I can start making them and do a little a time.

I spoke with my FH about the doing the invites myself ... He wasnt to sure because like I said on another post ... he's afraid I'll turn into ' a creature of the night ' or a ' bridezilla ' like those women on the show

My FH calls my brother's fiance bridezilla!! My FH made me promise not to be like that! I don't think you and I will since we have till 08!

I booked the church today!!! I feel like we accomplished something and now we are really in the planning stage!!

Thanks! We are 90% set on the Brentwood Country Club for the reception...we are going to a food tasting and if my FH likes it, then we will book.
How is everyone's planning going?

My FH and I are going to look at Chateau la Mer wed night!!! I am so excited to actually be out there looking instead of searching the internet anymore..lol

we're booked at giorgio's. We also have our church picked out. is the Assumption in Port Jeff. Greek church. And I have an apt on 5/3 to interview with a DJ. So far so good. I'm trying to get everything book this year so I can get 2008 prices.

Congrats on booking Giorgios...little tip...when you go to the church, don't tell them you booked the hall already. For some reason, the priest gets offended if you did the hall before booking them. Just tell them you started looking, but no decision has been made.

Well.... it waaaaasssss 55-60 but now a few people have called and jumped on me wanting an invite when the time comes ... so now up to 65.... I refuse refuuuuuuuuse to go over 70 ! Not to sound mean or anything but if I don't kept a tight grip on the budget it can easily get out of control

I went to the church today to filled out the paperwork, so now i just have to wait to hear from them.. i'm not sure how it really works. The church charges 175 for the Pre Cana class and a church donation of 600... is it just me or is that kind of a lot for a DONATION?

Hi Everyone- I'm a newbie and my FH and I are looking toward '08 for our wedding. I kinda have my heart set on Flowerfields in St. James but we haven't even looked. My MOH is on the board too for '07 and she's been filling me in on all the stuff I had no idea about. Honestly- $600 is ALOT of $$ for the church- that's craziness. Which church is that...I hope its not Our Lady of Lordes in Massapequa. That's where we want.

Anyway, good luck with everything everyone. I'm looking forward to chatting with all of you.

BTW- anyone on here gotten any quotes from Flowerfields recently on spring '08????
