I would say under $50. If she was a relation, I would spend more, but unless this is your BEST friend's kid, $50 or under

i'd say 50-75 ....or a cute idea (if they are going to college) get them a sweatshirt and tshirt (and/or hat!) from their college if you can....

Its a boy so I think $$ would be the best thing... a photo album would be a great idea for a girl.

Money or a gift card for someplace they all use, like Sam Goody or the like - I know that's what I wanted
If they are going to college local see if you can get a GC at the college bookstore, a lot of them do that and those books are expensive
