Highchairs - opinions and recommendations

OK time to choose a highchair. Which one do you have and do you like it? Which would you suggest and what do you look for in a highchair? They all seem so similar. Thanks!

I have the peg perego prima pappa

It folds up for storage, the height is adjustable, and the tray comes off. The seat also tilts back.

I've read some reviews that the Prima Pappa is difficult to clean and the tray is too high (difficult for the child to reach) and too far away from the child (all the food gets dropped in the child's lap). Do you have these issues?

well my little guy just started using it (he's 11 wks old) and just sits with us at the table when we eat. Maybe someone else who has an older child can give you that information (I hope not because we threw out the box!!)

I have the Fisher Price Healthy Care Deluxe with Linkadoos, and so far, we love it. Easy to use, has the 5 point harness, 3 trays, recline, adjustable height, wheels and toys that are attached to the main tray, so they don't get thrown.

I have the Chicco Mama and love it. Its just like the Prima Papa but less money. Still not cheap but alot less than the PP. Dont they all pretty much have the features that someone listed for the PP? Adjustable height, tilt seat, etc.

Some are easier to clean than others, that might be a consideration. Some dont need to be assembled. Some have a tray that gets in closer to the baby than others.

One feature I especially liked is the locking food tray. My brother has an older version of my highchair and it didnt lock in place where the baby couldnt undo it. When I say baby I mean an older baby. I have a 2 yr old and while he's out of the highchair, I can tell you that by 12 months he would have been clever enough to undo it if it didnt have the locking feature.

I also have the Peg Perego Prima Pappa (same as posted above). I really like it overall, but I don't use the tray when I feed Andrew because he likes to lean forward and eat it My friend has a high chair where the tray stores on the back of it when not in use and I wish this chair had this feature because the tray is big and I have no place to store it when not in use. It does store on the chair when you fold it up though, so that's not a problem.

Andrew is big and he has no problem reaching the tray to eat, nor do I feel its too far from him. I got it at my shower, so we didn't have to absorb this expense.

Did you find this at a store or online? It seems the only brands I can find to look at are Peg Perego, Fisher Price, Graco and the wooden Eddie Bauer.
