Highlighting my hair

I just cancelled my appointment to get my hair highlighted after I found out I was preg. Has anyone ever gotten their hair done during the first trimester? My roots are going to be growing L-O-N-G.....but it's worth it!

Also...can I still get my nails done? I have acrylic nails.

Everything I have read about hair dying varies but they all agree not during first trimester and then after to try and use a vegetable based dye?

As far as nails I heard also big no no and to even stay out of the salon completely because of the smell of all the chemicals.

I had mine highlighted at 4 weeks and then again at 13... Im going again around 30. My girl uses veggie dye. No problem with my doc. As their opinion.


Nail is a big no no. The chemicals are something you shouldnt smell!!!

Thanks for your good words about Dr. Levine too. We've decided to go with him - we met with him last month - he's very nice and we both felt really comfortable with him. I really like the girls in the office too. I have an appointment on 10/7 to meet Dr. Nodelman.
