I'm new to posting on LIW. I'm a member on EBP. I am getting married on August 10, 2008, so just under a year.
My fiance and I have been dating for about 2 years and we got engaged last October. He's from Philly so we have a somewhat long distance relationship. We do see each other often though.
Anyway I plan to be a DIY bride. My planned DIY projects for now are:

I'm moving to Philly! House and rental prices are cheaper there. I like Philly too! It'll be scary because I've never lived anywhere other than NY except for studying abroad in Italy for 4 months.

EBP is Ebonybridalplanner.com, it's very similar to LIW. I think it's owned by the same people as LIW.
Yes I'm wondering if I'm biting off too much as well...hopefully not.
Question: How are you starting your CP's already...are you using silk?

Good luck! It is definitely cheaper here than in NY. You'll be fine!!! I love it here, it's really so much like NY, and it's only 2 1/2 hours away!

MY FH is from Philly as well and we did the long distance thing for over 2 years, it's really tough! He was tranfered to NYC in May, so we are back together full time again.

Yes the commuting relationship is tough. Especially when you have to drive to Northern Westchester (which is where I live). Anyway we've just dealt with it by becoming well acquainted with I-95! The funny thing is that I can tell you exactly how long it's going to take to get from the top to the bottom of the turnpike depending on the day and time you are traveling. And I'm right 95% of the time!
I can't wait until I drive there for the last time as a commuter!!
I'm glad your FH was able to transfer to NYC!
