Hijacking a thread means you change the topic. If someone posts something about where to find cute shoes, and someone posts 'oh, these are the cutests shoes ever!' and the thread turns into something about what your favorite shoes are instead.

That's kind of a lame example!

i'm guilty of hijacking a few times. Though, it's never been an intentional hijacking... or premeditated in anyway

Most of the time it just somehow happens, and when I catch what i've done, i try to stop.

i dont think i ever had and if i ever had Im sorry for it because i wouldn't want anyone to hijack my thread i like to get along with everyone and the thought of someone doing that to me would bother me.

Sometimes it makes me cry when people don't respect my topics enough to stay focused. It's more than a topic, it is ME that you are hurting.

no i never did it hijack a thread but all i was saying if i ever did which i have not i would be sorry for it maybe i should have made myself a little more clearer and i should make sense i know i jumble sometimes sorry for that! but all i am saying is yes i would but hurt by it if it was done intentionally but i know no one would do that to me or anyoneintentionally because i get along with everyone and we all get along with one another too. sorry Monkeyluv for my confusion. My bad.

It would. And I don't think it is a big deal. Even in normal conversation, topics evolve and change--never do you stay on one topic in a natural conversation.

I think all monkey meant was that it isn't done (in most cases) with malicious intent because you don't like the person posting. Usually it is just the natural evolution of a 'conversation.'
