Can anyone describe their suites to me? I have gotten 2 different answers 2 different times I called them. The most recent is that the only difference between a suite and standard king is that the suite has a pull-out sofa bed. How big is the suite? Is it bigger than a regular room? has anyone looked at them or do you have pics? This hotel thing is giving me major STRESS
ETA the one in Westbury or garden City or wherever the heck it is

Honestly...if you can...your best bet is to check the rooms out for yourself. We went around to all the hotels and did this. We LOVED the HGI. It's brand new, so it's clean, friendly and just nice.
It's been a long time since I've seen the standard room, but from what I remember it's just like any other standard hotel room. No 'living room' type area. One TV, two double beds, bathroom. The suites have either a king or two double beds, bathroom in middle, living room type area which has pull out sofa bed another TV, etc. This worked out great for my Brother and family. The kids used the pull out sofa and TV while my Brother and his SO used the king bed & TV area. It's nice. Nothing like what you'd find at the GCH, but great for price. Both rooms have refrigerator & microwave.
The pool is great - jacuzzi too. Nice fitness room too.
The HGI is located directly behind Bed Bath & Beyond. It's great for OOT guests for shopping, etc. Source Mall, Roosevelt Field, etc.

Actually my dad and step-mom wanted to stay there b/c they were under the impression they would have room to entertain guests? Also I will be in a suite to take pictures in since my family isn't from here I will get ready at a hotel. Also I thought you can't block rooms with them?
We do plan on looking but I'm so confused!

You can block rooms at the HGI. We did. I know others that have too.
Definitely check them out. I don't think the rooms will be big enough to entertain guests in.

lemme look it up when I get home..when they said they wouldn't block rooms they did quote us a group rate (we would have a code to give to guests).I think it was $10-20 more than the Wingate, which is the other hotel we're considering.
