Did any of the moms out there ever have to take their 6 week old newborn for a hip sonogram? I have to take Emily today at 1pm. When she was first born the pediatrican said he noticed her hips were loose. Wish Emily luck. Thanks for any input.
Nope, Ive never heard of that. Are they just going to check the 'connection'?
If the baby is breech or they hear a 'click' sound they do this. Molly had her sono done at 10 weeks. It was NO big deal at all.
If we feel a hip click on exam we send the baby for a sono. Majority come back completely normal. It looks to see if there is any dislocation of the hip. If it does show dislocation, the baby will be sent to ortho for further treatment.
My goddaughters hips did that clicking noise for the longest time and the doctors did not seem worried. She is almost 2 yrs. old now and it doesn't do it anymore.
