His family lives OUT OF STATE

Hi everyone. This is my first post and I really could use your opinions.

We still havent set a date for our wedding but here is the situation. He has never been married and has no kids except for his cat and dog. lol His parents, sister and brother-in-law live in Florida.

Me, on the other hand, have 3 kids (16-15-13) and I have been married before. My whole family live here in California.

I know his mother wants a special wedding for him (actually it is more for her as a mother .
He says he would be fine getting married at a courthouse (how romantic )

I know we have to plan the wedding around MLB because his bro-in-law plays and we need to do it in the off season. His sister says we can have it in Florida at there house but that means I would have to fly my kids, my parents and my brother and sister out to there.

My sister thinks I should have something very simple since it is my 2nd wedding (but it's his first)

I, myself, would love to have a simple wedding up at Lake Tahoe................

Help I am so confused.......I would love you opinion.

I think you should have the wedding in your hometown. His family will not have a problem to be there for him if they want to be there.
FH and I lives in NY all of our families lives out of the country and they are willing to travel across to the world to come to our wedding.

I now my family will travel to where the wedding is and so will his. Both of our parents can afford to travel and with our wedding being so far away
my sister and brother along with our best friends will save up the money to go. But as for us.....we will have to also pay for the 3 kids to travel to the wedding and if that means we are flying then it is alot along with paying for the wedding.

Maybe I can convince him to have the wedding here and then we can do it sooner too.
