Re: Hitched In Vegas..
FMIL and her new Hubby, were married in the Little White Chaple- in Vegas..... this past June..
I dont think that I would want to go that route...Especially the 'drive through' version... 'Do you want Happily Ever After with that?,, Ok then $29.99'

Re: Hitched In Vegas..
I really realize now the whole wedding party thing that we are all going nuts about is really trivial (spending this much) but I think a drive through wedding in itself is morally wrong in someways. I mean it really does cheapen the whole aspect of a wedding. It is fine for a fun thing to do after you married to renew but to just do that to me seems Eeeek

Once in a while during this process I suggest it.

Re: Hitched In Vegas..
I think the drive thru is a bit much. I think a lot of people go to Vegas to get married do it because they don't want the stress (or expense) of having a big wedding. Think about all the issues we have with vendors, family, friends, etc.

I'm getting hungry!
Anyway, I just can't see myself doing a drive-thru wedding. Kinda tacky.

Re: Hitched In Vegas..
I think it's all about personal choice and I also think every situation differs.
Yes, some people do not take marriage via drive-thru seriously but honestly, some people do (and some people don't even take traditional weddings seriously). They just don't want the stress of having a large wedding or they don't want a wedding at all, they just want to be married. I think we are being a little quick to judge people who make the choice to do this. If two people really love each other and that's what they want, hey more power to them. I don't think any relationship should be judged by the fact they get married by Elvis or by a priest, to some people it's all the same. It may not be for you but that doesn't mean that people who choose this route love each other any less. Some people spend thousands of dollars on weddings and divorce within a few years....so I don't think where and how you choose to wed really has any bearing on how long a couple will be together.
just my 2 cents.

Re: Hitched In Vegas..
we're going to vegas on thursday for FH's brothers wedding. but their making a big deal out of it. mini-reception and everything. it's planned not spur of the moment so i think that makes a difference. they even sent out invites.

Re: Hitched In Vegas..
my MOH's mother got married in Vegas in Feb. but it was her 2nd marriage and they didnt want to make it a big deal. it was just them, my MOH and her bf. they got a limo, got all dressed up and went to the chapel. they made it really nice with a unity candle ceremony too. that i think is nice.
this couple on hitched in vegas went in regular street clothes (him in a tee and jeans) and seemed to only be getting married cuz they just had a baby, that was tacky.

I'm all for a drive through wedding if I can also get a happy meal while I'm there. I do love the nuggets.
