FI and I have not booked a HM yet because of a job opportunity he was waiting which has now fallen through. Do you think it would safe to go to Mexico in September?

If you do book a trip to Mexico, please get travel insurance. I can't stress enough how important it is.

I agree with Hollie! Even though the hurricane season has not been too bad so far, I would definately get insurance while travelling during September & October!!!!

Los Cabos is a desert on the Pacific side and it would be very difficult for a hurricane to hit there (my boss drew me a diagram when FH and I planned a trip there during hurricane season). That's an option.
If you want to go to an area that has a possibility of seeing an Atlantic Hurricane, book through a travel agent and learn about any policies the resorts and airlines have with Hurricane - related cancellations. Also, inquire about travel insurance and what it provides.
Tropical Depression 4 is out there right now and it could become Tropical Storm Debbie. September is usually the height of hurricane season so although it's been quiet this year so far compared to the past two, we aren't out of the woods yet.
