I am thinking about going on a10 day carribbean cruise for my honeymoon but i feel like maybe i should do a resort instead. Mainly b/c most cruises are for families and it will be in March which is around spring break time.
What are your thoughts on cruise vs. resort for honeymoon?

FH and I are going to an adults only resort. Aren't there adults only cruises? Talk to Tom from American Express......he can tell you what's out there for your budget and that might help you decide btwn the two.

I went on a Cruise in April and it was PACKED with kids. I wouldn't really consider it a romantic vacation. But I'm sure it depends on the cruise line and where the cruise is to. And I think it depends on when Easter is and when the kids are off from school. It's definitly a good time though.

Re: HM
We are doing a trans atlantic cruise that leaves on April 12th -easter this upcoming year is actually very early it's April March 23rd I think. Our TA said the cruise shouldn't be that packed with kids because a lot of them will be back in school by april 12th and trans-atlantic isn't really a 'kid oriented' kind of cruise.

My sis and her DH went on a cruise and had a great time! They did a Bermuda cruise. Some cruises are geared more for families so I would just stay away from those. Cruises are great bc you'll save a ton of $.

I've gone on cruises and I just feel like you're more limited. You eat the food on the ship because its free so you don't go out into the islands and eat at the restaurants. And a lot of the ships leave the ports before 8 pm... so you can't go out at night. Usually there's so much to do on the ship anyway, but by like day 5 you've pretty much done it all...
I've only gone on Carnival so I couldn't tell you about the others- but they always doing these cheesy events throughout the day- like the mens hairy chest contest and relay races for the kids- and they're always out by the pool deck so if you're lying out in the sun, you can't miss it. I wouldn't want to be on my honeymoon and have to see that stuff everyday.

If you want all inclusive, check out couples resorts. We are going to Couples Swept Away in negril, jamaica. They are more affordable than sandals and i've been reading amazing reviews on trip advisor for it. I booked through Travel Tom and he's actually been there and loved it. He'll be giving me insider tips. check out the resort site (www.couples.com) and check out travel tom too!
Also, I've been on a cruise twice. the first time it was full of kids from feb. break and the last time I went, in january, there might have been like 10 kids on the whole boat. If sight see-ing is what you want, i think a cruise is perfect. But, if you're looking to just relax on a beach and not do much at all, i would suggest a resort. (I love AI's too)

I think it depends a lot on the cruise line. Princess cruises tend to be more upscale and not kid oriented. My FH and I were having this discussion the other day b/c cruising is definitely a lot cheaper than a resort + food. We really wanna go to Hawaii or Europe so I think we'll just contact a travel agent and see what they can work out. Good luck

Fh and i are doing both parts...we are going to a hotel that is couples only for the first week, then we are going on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas. I'm not really too worried about the kids on the cruise and im not sure why im not lol. Maybe i should be. I guess im just hoping that those 2 and a half weeks are about us focusing on eachother. I dont think kids on the cruise would hamper that....Hopefully!!

while FH and i are not going on a cruise for our HM, i have been with my ex and it was def geared more towards adults...i did see a few kids, but nothing that would make or break my decision to go if that is what i wanted...BTW, it was carnival cruise lines....good luck!
