We just booked our HM for Atlantis in the Royal Towers for 6 days and 5 nights. I am just a little concerned. I have been reading reviews on other websites about Atlantis and so far I have gathered that the majority of the people who have gone, complained that the food was so expensive. We booked our trip with the Gourmet Meal Plan. According to the travel agent, we can eat anywhere in Atlantis for free but we have to pay the gratuity. I know the food is expensive there , as I have read, and I am just wondering if anyone has been there and can tell me just what my expenses will be in the end? I mean, why can't we just tip them normally and not have to automatically tip a certain amount.
What if I don't think the service was worth whatever amount they are asking us to pay?
Just a little frustrated that we maybe should opt for a different plan, if no plan at all?

The Atlantis is absolutely AMAZING!!! FH and I were there last year and stayed in the Royal Towers and had the time of our lives! The only downside was the cost of food... it was ridiculously expensive! I wouldn't let that sway you from going their though. For us, the cost was well worth it because we had such an amazing time! If I could give you one bit of advice.. I'd tell you to cancel your meal plan. It really isn't worth it! You won't really be saving any money because if you buy your meals a-la-cart, you'd still be paying just as much (maybe less). In all actuality, you might actually be losing out on the deal. I believe the meal plan only includes breakfast and dinner and you can only go to certain restaurants (correct me if im wrong, but that's what we were told). There were some days that we slept through breakfast and there were some that we just weren't hungry for dinner. If we had paid for the meal plan, we would have felt so guilty bc it was money wasted! Without the meal plan, you also have the freedom to go into town and have dinner - you'd def save money by doing that! Sorry for babbling!! lol If you have any questions, don't hesitate to FM me!

I've been to talantis twice- and once was my honeymoon (pics in albums). LOVED IT!! You have no worries! We also took the meal plan and enjoyed every meal!! Theres so much to do there that we never left the resort!!! We were there for 9 days and we only spent an extra $1500 once we were there!

We LOOOOOVED Atlantis! We didnt go with any food plan when we were there...there were some restaurants that we wanted to try that werent on the food plan, and we didnt think it was worth it for us. The food was definitely expensive, but we knew that going in. And there are certain places you can eat where you wont necessarily pay a fortune. I dont remember the tips being included in any of the meals we had. I personally dont think the meal plan is worth it...say you decide to go off the resort one day or go into Nassau, you are paying for meals that you arent getting.
