HM cruise or Aruba? I need help

Hey girls!

Me and my FH have been looking into honeymoon spots. Him and his family are all about going on a cruise for our honeymoon. However, I've never been on a cruise and I do get motion sickness. So, I'm in the air about what to do. Because I'm afraid I'm going to get sick. Does anybody have any info about aruba or cruises?

i always get sea sick too but i wore the sea bracelets and they worked like a charm.

Ive heard great things about aruba, but haven't been there.

I had an amazing time on the cruise i went on, def recommend them, but just depends on what type of hm you are looking for

i was on a cruise that went to aruba and we loved it. but for that day only.

we went to the beach at the Grand Hyatt I believe it was called and the hotel was absolutely gorgeous. really if we went back wed stay there...beautful weather and things to do!!!

although i loveeeeeeeeeee cruises too so..im no help.

i would do something ALL inclusive in Aruba...or a cruise.

My brother and his wife went to Aruba for their HM (they flew there) and they loved it. They stayed in an all-inclusive resort, but I'm not sure the name of it.

Cruises are a lot of fun too though. If you decide to take a cruise to Aruba or somewhere else or if you decide to fly to Aruba, I think you'll have a great time either way.

Personally, the boat is so big, i didnt have any trouble with motion sickness. You do feel the boat rocking at certain times but if you do have a tendency to get motion sickness, i wouldnt recommend it. THere is no where for you to go if you are sick.... its also a terrible feeling.

i also think a cruise is 10x more fun with a larger group rather than just a couple, IMO. I've done both and had a blast but it was just so much more fun with other people.

I vote for Aruba

I went on two cruises and would go on a million more. If you are looking for a lot of personal time with the two of you, and do not want to have tons of people around you all the time, then don't do a cruise. It's hard to find periods of time at any given place on a cruise where you are alone..other than your room of course.

However, I cruised to Aruba and wasn't thrilled. I was looking forward to a tropical paradise and it was more like a desert atmosphere...very windy and not like the other Caribbean Islands. It was nice and the beach we went to was great, but again, not what FH and I expected.

As for motion sickness, my dad owns a boat that I used to go on every chance I could get, and I never got sick before. However, our cruise hit some trouble spots in the ocean and I got ill and FH almost fell out of the shower when we hit a wave I didn't take anything for the sickness, but it was pretty bad. Thank god we had a balcony, b/c i was able to go out there and watch the water, which calmed my stomach a bit.

Also, we felt rushed on the cruise because there was set times to eat (I know that some cruise lines don't do that any more), time to get off the boat, time to get back on... We felt like we were on too much of a schedule, while we are people that like to do what we want spontaneously. I'm not the itinerary type.

And one more thing, our bar bill on the cruise was CRAZY!!!! I'm really embarassed to say that we spent about $2,000 on drinks for the 8 night cruise. And since you don't actually use money on the ship (just that card) we didn't realize how much it was adding up to.

I know a lot of people like cruises, but the schedule and crazy bar bill was just not for us.

We went to Aruba and stayed All Inclusive at La Cabana. We were able to go on tours to check out the whole island, didn't feel rushed to do anything, ate when we wanted, and had a great time! Aruba is so beautiful and it was great to spend more than a few hours there, instead of docking for one day with the cruise. The nightlife was so much fun too.
