Choosing my HM is proving to be the toughest decision!
We've tossed up a couple of different places- French Polynesia, Hawaii and more recently the carribean- here's my dilema:
The carribean is less exp than FP- but not by much! It's only $1500 less than FP and I feel like dollar for dollar it should be a lot less. For such a price difference, should we just go with FP?
FH says less is less- but I think that if we're going to the carribean it should be soo much cheaper. I know that it has a lot to do with the resorts that I'm looking at- but still. I feel like for such a small amount I should go with FP. What do you think?

I think you should do FP if you can swing it -- considering the difference in distance, I don't think $1500 more is too bad

I agree with the girls above...it is a once in a lifetime trip. you can go to the Caribbean anytime.

Re: HM help
honestly for us hawaii was only 1500 cheaper than fp..so we just went with fp! its a once in a lifetime vacation you'll always remember..so if you can..I say do it! You'll never have a chance to go to fp again..especially when you have children (thats if your having any) but carribean you can go anytime!

Ditto to everyone's comments. HM is prime time to go on a trip on the other side of the world. The carribbean is beautiful and a wonderful vacation spot, don't get me wrong, but I feel like you can do that even as a long weekend getaway at any time. If you can splurge that extra $1500, go with it!!!!

Re: HM help
Hahaha! This is the very SAME issue I am having at the moment. However, I ruled out the carribean for all of the reasons everyone else stated above. We really want to do French Polynesia but we are nervous about how much money we will be spending there. So maybe this could answer both of our questions....does anyone know how much you generally spend a day there? That could make the difference between Hawaii and FP...I have heard that FP is about 3x more epxensive than Hawaii as far as actual spending money (excursions/food/inter-island flights). Also, is 8 nights sufficient? How many do you recommend? Sorry I kind of extended your question....but we both seem like we are in the same boat. Right now....i'm thinking FP....it's a once in a lifetime opportunity! Also, talk to travel tom....he is giving me unbelievable prices and he is so wonderful to deal with! [email protected]

Re: HM help
I ended up booking French Polynesia for 9 nights!!! I used Travel Tom......he gave me the best package rate. I researched and priced things out online for days and he still had the best deal. If you are still thinking about it, I would definitely talk to him. It is the trip of a lifetime if you can make it work!

I wanted to go to Bora Bora, but it was sooo expensive! Also, they do not have all inclusives out there and you will pay through the nose for all your meals. It is beautiful, but not a lot to do there. Depends if you want a relaxing Honeymoon or action packed.
I am going to Excellence Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic cause you get the best deal there. It is an all-inclusive. Several friends and relatives stayed there and gave it a triple thumbs up.
They have:
beautiful beaches a mile long pool with swim up pool bar horseback riding included watersports included Spanish and cooking lessons included live entertainment a private jacuzzi in your room and on your deck a spa several restaurants and bars on property canopied beach beds minifridge stocked with juice, soda, beer, water outstanding service canopied colonial style beds
You can get a massage at night on the beach surrounded by candles. You can get a private beach dinner with tiki torches. Afterwards you come back to the room and they have a bubble bath drawn for you with rose petals and candles. They make cute shapes with the towels and put candy on your pillow every night. Newlyweds get a fruit basket, flowers, and champagne upon arrival.
