WE are thinking of doing a mini-HM because we'd rather put the money towards our home....We need ideas on stuff close to home that we could drive to OR if the cost isn't much different, a less expensive warm destination. We thought of the Poconos in PA...any other ideas ladies??

I suggest St. Augustine Florida, it is beautiful.
Let me know if you want more info, I went to school there and loved it. It's 37 miles of beaches and the rest is history (that is there logo, it is the oldest city in the US).
I can tell you every good restuarant, hotel, condo, where to go, etc...
YOu can get a cheap flight too, I used to fly for 120 roundtrip from LaGuardia to Jax and back.
ETS - My parents used to come visit me (supposely me) every semester for 1 or more and stay at a condo on the beach.

The Caesar's resorts in the Poconos are really nice. What about Niagara Falls???

A coworker went to a B&B in Vermont for her HM, she said it was amazing! They went hiking, horseback riding, antiquing and a bunch of other stuff.
