HM Issue!

HM Issue!

FH and I can't agree on a HM destination! This has been the only disagreement we have had throughout the planning process and now we are 3 months out from our wedding with NO HM BOOKED!! ahhhH!!!

So heres the deal...He's been just about everywhere in the world and I haven't. I told him what I want in a HM and he suggested Hawaii or Greece;however I am deathly afraid to fly. So I am doing everything possible NOT to go to these places. Do you guys have any suggestions? Our wedding is at the end of September and thats the middle of hurricane season, so the Carribean probably wont work.

My latest idea is Vegas for 3 days (a 5 hour flight is better than 10 ) followed by a cruise from NY to Bermuda for 5 days.

What do you guys think?

you should def do a cruise ... can you handle a 3 hour flight? or are you equally scared of all flights? Cause if you could get down to PR or FL (both 3 hour flights) then you can catch some amazing cruises... I know some cruises sail from NY and Baltimore and NJ, but not sure if you want to go where they go...

we are taking a cruise out of PR and going to St. Lucia, St. Thomas, St. Marteen, Antigua and Barbados

edt to add: FH is deathly afraid to fly also, so for the 3 hr flight to PR he is going to take a pill to knock him out or get drink on the plane lol he hasnt decided yet

Cruise is a great way to spend your HM!!!
altho i would suggest to go to the doctor and get some medication to knock you out on the flight because Hawaii and Greece sound AMAZING!!
Hawaii was my frist choice!!! but we are doing aruba instead!
aruba might be another option!! they are out of the hurricane belt and i believe the flight is only 4 hours...or something like that

Hi! We have the same issue. I am had a bad experience 5 years ago and haven't flown since and I did not want to be stressing about flying on my wedding day. So we decided to take a 9 day cruise from NY to the Caribbean. I know you said you would be going during hurricane season but they have ones that go to the bahamas and other places. Definately look into it!

I think a cruise might be your best bet... however... your fear of flying, have you ever been on a plane before? FH was really afraid, because he had never done it, until he had to get on a plane to Calgary for work. Is there a reason for your fear? Let me say I have flown my entire life and its really not scary. I am sure you have heard it before... more people die in car crashes, yada yada yada. Hawaii really is worth the flight. It truly is paradise. Could I suggest flying 5 hours to CA, staying there for a few days, and then taking the rest of the trip to Hawaii. Then on the way back you could do a night at the hotel by the LAX airport, which is what we used to do when I was a kid to break up the flight. Just a suggestion if you really want to do Hawaii.

If you want to avoid flying altogether, you could do a cruise. I believe you can go to the Bermuda right from NY, or you could drive to Miami.

I am also dealthy afraid to fly, at least I was until I started to take xanax everytime I flew, honestly, it saved me. I am super anxious and NEVER wanted to take any drugs because I thought it would make it worse. I decided to try it one time and I love it. Maybe you can ask your doctor for a prescription. I can not fly with out it.

I started taking it because I didnt want to limit any place I wanted to go. We are flying to Italy for our honeymoon and taking a cruise from there. Again, thinking about it makes me nervous, but I know I will be OK.

Good luck!

I just saw your wedding is hurricane season. Take the xanax and take your chances on a plane.

I went on a cruise during a Tropical Depression. I will fly all the time but after that i have never stepped on a cruise ship again. It was 6 days of nausea and never seeing the sun and one lovely day when we could actually use the pool, go to the beach, and not get off the ship in a trash bag.
