HM poll

FH and I are debating what we should do for HM...

Our choices :

Hawaii
Sandals Resort somewhere
Cruise

We have about 9 nights to go away since I am a teacher. FH thinks that isnt enough time for hawaii but i think it is...what you girls think?

Any pros/cons to these places/ideas if you have been there?

I have never personally been to Hawaii but if I had the budget to do it, I would without a doubt choose Hawaii from the amazing things Ive heard and seen in pictures. If you have the budget, I would do it all the way!!! Also, I think 9 days is enough- I mean extra time would be great to get to other islands etc, but I still think 9 days is doable and you wont miss too much if you plan right- for Hawaii- I would definately use a travel agent opposed to booking on your own.

I personally am going to Sandals in Ocho Rios, Jamaica which I am still happy about of course.

I think a lot of people like cruises because you get a lot of variety and experience a lot of different places which would normally cost you much more to do seperately- it also offers the inclusive of meals option which is great. I think the only drawback might be for some people, it is not quite as relaxing as going to a beach resort...maybe not, JMO on this.

One more great option is Bermuda- really gorgeous!...STILL HAWAII THOUGH, lol

i voted for hawaii becuase thats where we are going :)

buttt.. i have been on a ton of cruises and I LOOVE them! but they arent for everyone. We decided against it for our HM becuase we want to lay in a hotel room with the sun and ocean and relax, etc.
for me a cruise is more go go go and with a lot of people around all the time (shared dining, etc.)

Sandles resorts are nice becuase of the all-inclusive. I would definantly do that if you want to go somewhere where they are available. Friends went to st lucia on thier HM and looooved it. I have been to sandles in jamacia and had a terrible time but for so many more reasons. some of the places are fabulous though!!

FH REALLY wanted to go to Hawaii, but since we are getting married at Sandcastle, we are headed to Greece. I think if you can find a good deal for Hawaii, it is awesome, but I am ALWAYS a fan of all-inclusive...I think it just ends up saving you in the long run.

I voted for Hawaii because i've always been told 'if you don't go for your honeymoon then you'll never go'. this is where i want to go but i will see how it works out price wise.

ETA: i think its fine for 9 days. i wouldn't stay less than a week though since the flight alone getting there takes a day in itself

I chose Hawaii cause I've been there before and LOVED IT!! You will not be disapointed, however, the 9 day thing might be rushing it. the travel time takes up at least a day there and a day back. You will definitely have 7 days to enjoy the island but you have to decide if you only want to go to more than one island, or if you would be happy staying at one. The flights between the islands are easy but it does take time and can be annoying going to a new hotel. I would say two weeks is ideal for hawaii but its possible in 9. let me know if you have any questions!!

I've been to Hawaii 2 times (once stayed there, & once a cruise). If you stay there...I say Kaui or Maui. & DEF. do the helicopter ride of the islands!!!! The cruise....it was OK.

We chose Hawaii - we figured if we didn't do it for the honeymoon, then when would we do it?
You can do 9 days - visit 2 islands, Kaui and Maui and enjoy! We're doing12 but adding the big island to the mix.

I said Sandals b/c that's where we're going. We wanted to go to Hawaii but it's wayy to expensive, and I want to be able to be pampered after all this work!! :)
