HM Question?

Well since the hurricane, most of Cancun and the surrounding area have been devastated, and almost all of the resorts are closed due to some sort of damages!

My problem:
FH and I booked Secrets for our HM and even though its still 6 1/2 months away and they are saying they will be up and running again by January, I am still very apprehensive! Should I cancel and go somewhere else? If so where......it took me forever to come to a decision on Secrets I can not imagine doing it all over again!!

That's a tough one. FH and I were considering Secrets as well. We changed our plans for different reasons (FH and I had both been to the area before, so we decided to go somewhere new).

Maybe you can switch it to the Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana? Or you can look into the One and Only Resorts if you are considering changing.

That is a hard one.

I voted to 'Stick with it', My only reasoning why is... Cancun is the biggest Spring Break place to go (maybe there peak season)... I am sure that they aren't going to miss all the business during that time of year. Which is b/4 you are getting married, I think you will be fine.

Well... I hope.

Maybe try calling like once a month until Jan and see where they are at in renovations and if in Jan they still aren't done and they postpone the opening date... Then book something else.

there are so many other places to choose from. I would be nervous about it too. Can't blame you for that.

What are the One and Only Resorts? Are they all inclusive?

I'm almost positive that they are all inclusive. Might be slightly higher than Secrets Excellence, but the same level of service.

One and Only Resorts

There are many, but not as good as Secrets.

You know what? I thought about it and I would stick with it. The area will be desperate for tourism and I am sure Secrets Excellence will be like new by the time you're going there. I just checked the website and they said there was some damage, but they will be reopening November 19th. So I imagine they will be in better shape by next year.

We may just book there also because out of my final choices for our HM, my original first choice was Secrets and it keeps nagging me in the back of my head to just go with it!!

I would say stick with it. It will probably be cleaned up by then..if not I think they would give you date for your HM..besides you would be helping their economy by vacationing there.
