HM update - not good

HM update - not good

So I posted this week that I was so excited for our Honeymoon -- supposed to leave on Monday and be in Turks and Caicos -- private island off of - till Friday....

Well yesterday during my lunch break DH calls me to tell me the HM has been cancelled b/c the place we were going is now in recievership and the bank seized them.

Our honeymoon got cancelled. I am suprisingly calm -- but we now have to figure out a new HM and don't know when that will be.

Background on our trip -- DH bid on it at a live auction for a charity event (a charity that we have attended their big fundraiser for the past 5 years and he has a close relationship with )

It was for a 4 day stay at Ambergis Cay Turks and Caicos Sporting Club, with airfare and everything included.

So now DH had to go back to said charity who will refund him MOST of his money.... and we are out a honeymoon.

I feel bad for the 100+ people that just lost their jobs unexpectedly....and it could have been worse...we could have arrived on Monday and had no place to stay OR this could have happened our first day there...again with no place to stay

So.... asking for HM ideas..

is there another place in turks that you can stay? Im sure youhad your heart set on that place and you still have a few options. I went there on a cruise stop for the day and i was beautiful. and its a close flight from NY (jetblue flies direct)

im so sorry!! i cant beleive that!!
You can always look for a last minute trip to a sandals- aruba and st. lucia (if its over the hurrican) are supposedly the best ones. My HM to St. Lucia was perfection.

You an always get a trip to the Bahamas, Bermuda, DR... Or why dont you try another place in T&C? I went there on a cruise and it was gorgeous. but honestly, many of the caribbean islands are very similar in terms of beaches, etc.

I'm sooooo sorry to hear this!!

For part 2 of our HM we stayed at Secrets Maroma in RIviera Maya. A+++++++++ This place was AMAZING!!! Sooooo beautiful, food was great, fabolous entertainment. Aaaaanndd, the price was right!!! We will def be going back one day.

If you're looking for something to do soon. Vacationstogo.com has a '90 day ticker' and the prices you can get are unbelievable!
