Re: hm--video camera
that is a good question. We've been looking into getting one but if you bring it on HM won't the video be of you OR your DH? Unless you ask people to video the both of you??????

My FI got a digital camcorder for Christmas from his parents and we are definitely bringing it - we are also going to assign on of our friends to film the wedding so we can see it the next day!

Re: hm--video camera
I brought it to our last trip to Aruba, I was wondering why John kept wanting me to bring the **** thing to the beach of all places?? I didn't want to bring it.
I later learned he wanted to film (or have someone on the beach film) his proposal to me.
Anyway, we got alot of great footage from our last trip, I love watching the trip I got engaged on!

Re: hm--video camera
We went to Italy and My husband wouldn't let us bring a video camera or anything expensive looking b/c he had read all of these warnings about swarms of gypsy children stealing your belongings.
I swear - I saw one gypsy child the entire time and we were never in danger of having our equipment stolen! (He'll never hear the end of that!)
We even asked a street vendor to take a picture of us with one of the camera's we did bring.
Just wanted to let you know not to take everything you hear seriously - be cautious - but not overly so - after all we are New Yorkers!

We were going to buy one and use it- have it with us in Hawaii.... the parts that are out of the hotel room, I guess.

Re: hm--video camera
We brought our DV camera to Tahiti with us, and we are so glad we did. Aside from having hours of footage of our excursions, we also have an hour-long tape of quiet sunrise footage that my hubby taped each morning at our resort on Bora Bora...all you can hear is the water softly lapping against the stilts of the bungalows and against the shore...hypnotic!

Re: hm--video camera
We did not bring one. We splurged on a great Cannon rebel... I've found a video to be a pain & I'd be so involved in filming I wasn't really paying attention to what was going on. Just me, though. It'd be great to have brought home footage of some of the great things we saw.
