Hmm am I allowed to do this?

Hmm am I allowed to do this?

FH & I have a joint bank account. He got a check from a family friend and he signed it. Am I allowed to go and deposit it into our joint account if he isn't with me?

As long as the check is endorsed anyone can deposit/cash it. That's why you shouldn't endorse your checks until you're ready to deposit them.

anyone can deposit a check into any checking or saving account...you should not have a problem at all cosidering your name is on the account

Just sign your name under his, I do that all the time and I have never had a problem.

yes you can deposit it...they always take money in..its when you wanna cash it that the problems arise

yes we dont have a joint account yet and i make deposit for FH

yeah u can - I do this with FH's paychecks all the time he just has to sign it...

Yep!!!! But if both of your names are on the account, you should be able to cash it as well!

Yup... good advice for all of us. But yes... you can make the deposit even if your name isn't on the account. I make them for my boss.

i make deposits for FH all the time and we don't have joint accounts! so yeah you def shouldn't have any problems!
