I would LOVE to have someone famous sing at my wedding reception. For example, my brother was going to invite Harry Connick Jr. to sing at his 1996 wedding (He really likes him), but his NOW ex-wife didn't want it. Long story short, she's a self-centered *&#$@! Anyway, any suggestions? I would love Alicia Keys, but she's too famous.

I am not expecting someone as famous as Alicia Keys, but I was thinking it'd be different. Maybe someone everyone knows, but not TOO famous. It was just a thought.

Just had a thought....my FH is from Argentina, maybe I can find an artist who is famous in Argentina, that is here in the US. That'd go over REAL big w/ FM&FIL! Again, not sure where to being on that one!

Thats a cute idea but they would want you to pay them plus pay for the travel there and back. I know from your other post you are a bride on a tight budget ( arent we all) so just try not to get to carried away in an idea that wont work out.. not to be mean but I have been through things like that and its a little dissapointing. JMO

I was thinking of James Brown. But FI thought it was ridiculous. You can get a lot of celebs through Steven Scott orchestras.

I wanted to do this. I wanted to surorise DH with Dr. Hook, the band that sang our first dance song. But they wanted $10,000 to play at our wedding. I sadly didn't hit lotto, so I couldn't swing it. But DH was touched that I thought about it!! I fyou can swing it, go for it!!

Yeah, I know. I dream big. I just want a nice surprise for my FH and his family. I already told FH I want to make a thank you speach to my FH's family in spanish.
