Ok, so the RSVP date for my E-party is in two days (Friday, June 12) and we have about 40 (!) people who have not responded yet. Foolishly, FH & I planned to go away this Friday. We won't be getting back til Saturday night, and then we are busy all day Sunday. We won't be able to call the non RSVPers til Monday.
Should we just call them tomorrow, or is that not right since the RSVP date isn't until Friday?
ETA: We sent the invites out over a month ago, so we wouldn't be like 'pushing' anyone to answer (since they have clearly had a bit of time)

I think you can wait until Monday to start contacting people. Your party is not until July (right?) so you have some time for the final head count. I also just have to add that people who don't RSVP to events are so annoying and rude... ugh!

I'd just wait until Monday - I know quite a few people who think that the RVSP date = the date that they're suppossed to drop the card in the mail/call/e-mail their response (however they're suppossed to RSVP, ya know?)
I personally HAAAAAAATE when people do that but that's just me. I have to let go of that!
Unless you need to give a final headcount this weekend, I'd just wait until Monday and hope that when I returned from my trip, I'd have a good amount of those responses!
Good luck!

You could call but I think the proper thing would be to wait until the RSVP date. You could always get one of your bridesmaids or MOH to call for you. That kind of thing is perfect for them because it would help you out and it isn't really that big of a deal to call people so its not hard.

For real. It's soooo irritating! Just think...this time next year, the 2010 board will be hopping with 'what's wrong with people, why don't they RSVP?!?!?!' vents!

I KNOW! I get mad when people don't RSVP to parties for graduations, birthdays, etc. Let alone a wedding!! I will flip out! My friend is getting married in a month (RSVP deadline is tomorrow) and like 80 people haven't responded! Ugh !

oh my god, I am like this too. Next year, come my wedding, if I am missing 80 RSVPs, I am going to d-i-e.
I am ALWAYS prompt and always rsvp to things, so it drives me NUTS when people don't!

I think I'll set my RSVP a week earlier than it really should be. If there is one thing I hate, it's people being late to things. This pretty much falls under that category!
