Hmmm

I think FH & I have our DJ list narrowed down to 2 instead of yesterday's 3. We're still unsure who we like more, and I think we would hire both if we could. We're researching and viewing more videos, and making a decision by next week.

My question is this... how much do you think you can negotiate a DJ down? One of the DJs is $3000 for our package, the other is b/t $2100-$2200 (depending on if they need to charge us a travel fee to CT). If we wind up liking the more expensive one more, what do you realistically think we could get them down to?

I would be blunt and say 'I was quoted XX...can you match or beat this quote?' Worst case scenario, they say No.

i would throw out a number and see what they say. so if its 3, say you were hoping to be closer to 2. if they bring it down to 2750 or 2500. then just say, 'how bout 2200 and we will sign the papers right now?'

if they say no, tell them about the other dj company.

I kinda hemmed and hawed in terms of flat-out negotiating...I was more like, what can we take out to lower the cost? He was very accommodating and I booked on the spot
