I just received an e-amil to my regular account from someone a user from LIweddings about a videogrpaher. I did a search for this user and there are no posts by her. Strange, did anyone else get this e-mail?

Sorry ladies... it's my first day!
I thought I'd ask a few brides some questions via e-mail. I'm more of a one-on-one person and wanted to inquire about two or three different vendors that some friends & family members recommended to me.
I was testing the water on this snowy day and hoping not to get lots of emails about everything under the sun! I just got engaged & we're not geting marrried to 2004.

welcome, but just a comment, with Forum Email you get a personal comunication without getting into the personal emails. Unfortunately, we have gotten a lot of fake brides ... it is not nice to see that people think that they can come and lie to us.
You will find these boards very useful, and the more opened that are your questions, you will find a lot of more answers and advices
congratulations in your engagement!

Re: Hmmm, strange e-mail
Well, then sorry if we were mistaken(there have been some issues ontese boards before). Welcome to the boards & next time if you have aprivate comment for a bride use the Forum Mail option. That will go privately to the brides mail on the site, not to her personal email account. Good luck & happy planning!

Re: Hmmm, strange e-mail
I've gotten a bunch of emails to my personal email through my time on the boards. You're email address isn't given out, but LI Weddings forwards the email if you use the email button below each post.
For people npt familiar with the board, its not so strange that they would use that over Forum Mail.

Re: Etiquette on this Board
I know it's late. But I just want to be clear on these response buttons.
Earlier today I used '@email' that apparently was forwarded to a personal email box (sorry girls).
Someone just posted that using the button for 'forum mail' is a way to send a private email.
So what is the '@email post' button for?

Re: Etiquette on this Board
well, the thing is that for what I have seen, only people that are truly closed, or know each other personaly send emails to each other, for the most part everybody uses the Forum Email. Sometimes you even see post like: so&so you got FM!!! to urge the person to check the mailbox. I guess that it is a way of been polite about email jams, etc.
good luck planning!

Re: Etiquette on this Board
Forum Mail - sends a message to your mailbox on this board. I'd say its the most popular form of private communication ON the board.
@ Email - sends a message to an email address (but email addresses are not divulged). I disagree that its strictly for a more personal communication. If that was the case, you'd probably have the person's email address already.
@ Email Post - emails the thread (if there's info you want to have available / forward to your email).
Welcome to the boards. Don't worry about having used the @ email feature - thats what its there for!
