Hmmm...should I do this?

Hmmm...should I do this?

I want to book 12th Night for my photography, but I don't have a car and the LIRR is not near me, so that means I can't visit their office. Do you think its dumb to just call and book them over the phone? I have seen their work and their prices are terrific. And they always get raves from here. I just want to book my photographer already.

if you're comfortable doing that, then go ahead...but personally, i would not do that.

I don't think you can book over the phone. When I booked, I signed the contract and so did Dominic. Unless he mails it to you, I guess you could do it that way. Why don't you see if he'll meet you somewhere?

I booked my florist at Starbucks!!!

Have you spoken to them in length?

You have see there work, you said-- in person? Not just on a website.

I booked a few things without going, (limo, hotels, make up) but not my photgrapher.

However, I did like them form there webstie & speaking to them, I only went pretty much to get prices & ask a few more questions.

The actually booking was done over the phone & through the mail after our meeting.

I spoke to someone briefly and I expect to speak to him again before I decide. I have seen the photos on the website. At this point I just want someone booked. *sigh*

I posted a link with a bunch of my photos. It's in my review. Check it out if you want to see some more of his photos.

I'm with you- I want to have Duet due to budget and the fact that I loved their work from other brides but I won't be in NY until August. They have my date penciled in and told me they will call me first if anyone requests that date. IF that happens, I will be sending a deposit without meeting them first!

Personally, I would not feel comfortable. I get a lot out of meeting with/interviewing the vendors and interacting with them. For example, am I comfortable with them? Are they attentive to my needs? How good are they at answering my questions? How do the styles of the various photographers they have differ? Also, there may be pictures that I may want to see that I haven't seen posted online.

It really depends on your comfort level.

I honestly don't see the point in shopping aound if you found someone you love. I interviewed 2 florists, 2 photographers and only tried on 6 dresses. If you know what you want, you don't usually second guess yourself and you are happy with your decision I say do it!

Re: Hmmm...should I do this?

I just asked my boss if I can leave an hour early on the 20th and she had no problem with that. So I will be meeting with Dominic on next Tuesday evening. I just remembered that since I work in Manhattan, I can take the LIRR directly there from my job.

Now I am wishing that there were some djs near there. I could knock out birds with one bullet!
