So with the new budget we started for the wedding we find ourselves in a dilemma about Christmas gifts. Finally decided to get gifts for FH's goddaughter, two little cousins (goddaughter's siblings), FH's younger brother, and my younger sister. Going with the gift card option for most since it's the easiest.
What is everyone else doing? Any suggestions?

Re: Holiday Gifts
Last year I went to the Union Square Holiday Craft Fair in Manhattan to get homemade artsy/fun jewelry. My female family members do not live in the city, so they are always talking about coming in and buying 'fun' stuff.
I bought everyone an awesome necklace or bracelet for 10-15 bucks a pop, and the woman wrapped them all in beautiful boxes for me.
They were a major hit for sisters, cousins and aunts. Mom and Gram got something a lil nicer.
Gift cards are hard, cause I hate to feel cheap with the amount. Sometimes it is easier to get something fun and unique for inexpensive, and then wrap it with NYC love.
Also, Century 21 in the city has a ton of high end designer silk scarves that are gorgeous, if you think they are a bit more upscale than costume jewelry.
There is always the internet bargains too...

I have the same problem- there are so many people, it cuts back on the amount you can afford to spend on them. I shop all year round and store the gifts in my closet. So I'm never dropping a ton of $ at one time.
I saw nice picture frames at Century 21, so Josh's aunts are getting those. The uncles got slippers.

Now this is something I think is important! Very smart idea! How many times do I see great things and say oh that'll make a nice gift - then when I go back for holiday shopping it's gone!

Re: Holiday Gifts
Well since my wedding is 2 weeks after Christmas we won't be doing gifts for anyone except our nieces & nephews. There is just no way ... forget the money for a moment, I won't even have time to plan out gifts!

Re: Holiday Gifts
It is so true....I am making a personal pact to start shopping by next month. Just picking up something I know a particular person in my fam would like when I see it. As for FH and me we will probably not exchange this year. Its really not a big deal. We'd rather save the $$$$$.

Re: Holiday Gifts
I was starting to worry about this too.... all of the money that I am able to save is going to have to go towards the wedding. I am trying to get my credit card balance down also, so I can't rely on that this year. I think I am going to start shopping soon so I can get a little at a time and it won't hit me hard come Nov/ Dec.
