holiday traditions you'll be marrying into
Anybody's FH got some good ones?
two unique ones my FH's family does:
The really sweet one: every year, his dad gives him a few Sacajaweyah dollars (the coin dollars) for luck. I don't know where he got that from, but I think it's really sweet. It was especially sweet because I didn't know that until this year, when they gave me two, and told me it's because now that we're engaged and planning our wedding, I'm a part of the family.
The kind of annoying but funny one: his family LOVES to give each other gag gifts. For years and years they gave each other the most hideous and outlandish pink flamingo related items they could find. They buy each other ridiculous underwear. All kinds of awful things. All in good fun, of course. It's kind of funny, but I also find it a little annoying when it's directed at me just because it seems kind of like a waste of money to me, and then I'm stuck with a bunch of useless ugly junk cluttering up my shelves. (and I take my gift giving very seriously![]()
) Still, it's really sweet how much fun they have with it.
