Holiday/Rabbi problems

Holiday/Rabbi problems

So i'm trying to decide what to do. We already booked the place and planned on having the rabbi from my temple perform the service.

I found out that Purim is the week that that we're getting married and they have a magillah reading the day of our wedding. The ceremony at the temple ends at 11 and we're supposed to start the ceremony at 12. Unfortunately they have another event or wedding at 6 so starting later isn't an option.

In Jewish custom, you sign a katubah or wedding agreement, this ceremony takes another half hour before he wedding. (It's not done in front of everyone, its more of a private ceremony) We need to do this at 11:30 in order to start the ceremony ontime

I'm not 100% certain if the Rabbi can make it to the RH ontime.

I'm debating on if I should just find another Rabbi or hope and pray he can get there early enough.

Yet another thing for me to stress out about.

If you have doubts about whether your rabbi would show up on time, you should DEFINITLY look for another one. To me atleast, it would be my first priority for him (and all my other vendors) to get to my wedding on time. That is one of the reasons why you are paying them, to provide a service and come on time. You dont need the unnecessary stress on your wedding day and the Ketubah signing is way too important for him not to show up on time to. What would happen if he is late or misses it? You cant sign the ketubah without a rabbi. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

We're not paying them, since we've been members of the temple for so long, they come. They ask for a 'contribution' to the temple but there's no charge.

Chances are i'm just driving myself crazy, it shouldn't take more than a half hour to get from Melville to Centerport.
