So have you guys discussed how you are going to spend holidays once you and FH are married?? We have tried and both having a really hard time compromising bc we both want to be with our families.. UGGG..

As of right now we do Thanksgiving at his parents. Its tradition his mom was from Ireland so when she came here it was a new holiday for her so she really appreciated more. Then for the Christmas holiday, he has a 7 year old and her mom wants her for Chrsitmas so Im the Italian and the Eve is spent with my parents. Christmas we both usually work because we both work in hospitals but im sure once we have our own children together that will change but for now we volunteer to work Christmas so other people can be with their children

well how have you been doing it the past years?
Somehow it was easy for us to decide. Dh and I did thanksgiving at my house bc his parents go upstate to his aunts house and since I used to have to go to work the next day then we just had thanksgiving with my parents. Christmas eve we did with his family bc his mother is in the church choir and everybody went to mass for that, so we felt it was important to do that. Then after we go to dinner somewhere and then back to his parents house to open gifts at midnight. Although my parents also celebrate christmas eve, this way made more sense bc my parents also did a big christmas day dinner and we spend christmas day with my family.
Next year i'll start hosting holidays so that will make it even easier.

we are having a hard time deciding... he suggested we do thanksgiving wiht my family (but stopping by his family in the morning), christmas eve with my family and christmas with his family...
i dont know how i feel about not being with my family on christmas... so we shall see

as of right now,
Thanksgiving dinner is w/ his father's side of the family. He loves his aunt's cooking and when i suggested next year i try cooking (since we'll be married)...i got shot down Then we go to my parents for dessert...
Christmas Eve, although i am Italian, the eve isnt that big...we just do a small fish dinner..and FH usually comes for dinner
Christmas...both of our parents do christmas at their homes...and since theyre 7 houses apart, christmas has no rhyme or reason right now. it's usually we eat at our own homes and then i run to his house for a lil and he comes back with me to mine.... i can see that's going to have to change sooner or later...

Still can't decide... it's really hard for us bc like my mom's whole side of the family still does something and so does my dad's side. FH's family is the same way. So for us it's trying to pick out of FOUR places to be, not even two. It's rough.
