Holland America cruise opinions?

Hi all,

I posted this on the BHB board and got no response... so I thought I'd try this board, too!

Has anyone been on a Holland America cruise recently? FH and I are investigating honeymoon possibilities, and we're deciding between Holland America and Royal Caribbean, leaning toward H.A. Any opinions -- positive or negative -- would be appreciated! If you've had good/bad Royal Caribbean experiences, those would be appreciated too. Please FM me if you don't want to post something negative...

Thanks Sasha -- I had heard that about H.A. but I wanted to get more opinions. I'm more of a nature girl than a nightlife person, so maybe the older crowd would be OK.

FH and I are going on a HA cruise for our honeymoon. It's true, sort of an older crowd...But that might be better...We'll be on our honeymoon, so I'm not sure it matters too much. My aunt went on a HA cruise to Alaska, she said they were the best.

I responded to you on BHB but I will say that if I had to choose between celebrity and HA I would choose celebrity - it is a slightly better line - (both ratings wise and I have spoken to people who took both) from what you have described I think you might be a better fit with Celebrity than RCCL or HA - check out cruise critic
