holy cow am i angry.
two sisters, ages 16 and 14 are in our wedding party. now on monday, the girls had their first fitting for the bridesmaid dresses. they knew for a year that they were in this wedding. ive told them countless times to go purchase shoes and a bra. did they? nope. moms always been 'too busy'. (busy? she doesnt work, doesnt do anything but sit home and watch soap operas).
the girls have 2 younger brothers. they begged us to buy them halloween costumes (even though we are saving for a wedding and shouldnt be spending extra money where we dont have to), and they begged us to take them around on halloween (even though we live in farmingdale and they live near the verazzano bridge). i didnt really want to go, but fiance agreed to take them. (their mom 'doesnt believe in halloween' and refuses to take them ToT. however, their older sisters are very capable of going around the block to take them, they just dont...)
so fiance and i left work early to go take them trick or treating. as we inched closer (traffic on the belt, of course), i called to say we were not too far away. the big brother told me that he was ready, but that little brother was out with his mom, to see some specialist and didnt know when he was coming back. then, the big brother told me that his little brother was sick on monday with a high fever, and he didnt go to school. he didnt go to school on tuesday either.
do i have the right to be annoyed that the mom didnt call me to tell me that the 1 kid was sick? if i knew that he was sick, i wouldnt have schlepped all the way there, since the 1 kid shouldnt go trick or treating, and the other kid is really old enough to go ToT on his own, or with his older sisters. plus, id idnt want to get sick, plus i live far away, plus i left work early.
i called my mom at work to vent to her, and she berated me, telling me that i have too much spare time, and shouldnt let things like that bother me (meanwhile, when these 4 kids go anywhere, they always look like a disgrace, holes in socks, clothes that dont fit- no, its not that they have no money, its that mom doesnt help them get dressed... and i have to hear it from my mom what messes they look like and how horrible it is, etc etc etc). then, i called my cousin to tell her (calmly) 'i wish you called me to tell me that, because i wouldnt have come all the way down --- etc'. she said 'sorry.'
so im annoyed that my mom thinks im totally wrong, and that she wont ever stick up for me (ie, call my cousin and say 'that was lame you shouldve called'). fiancee happened to be on the phne with his mom, explaining the situation on tuesday - actually screaming and yellling into the phone about how upset he is tha tmy mom doesnt stick up for me. this happened while i was on the phone with my cousin saying 'i wish youc alled me', and she heard him going ballistic, assumed it was targeted towards her, and then called My sister to tell on me.
so now my sister thinks im a biach, and out of line, and totally wrong, they think fiancee has no right to yell and scream when he's p1ssed that we get dumped on, and my cousin is sitting there, on her ***, because she does NOTHING.
do i have the right to be mad?
