HOLY COW - Part 2

Ok well I cant post a pic of the invite but will email it to anyone who wants to fm me their address.........

one more part to it. the invitation itself is really simple... but its has this gorgeous bow around it and the envelope is really nice.. its had to explain.. anyway Awhile ago I found the SAME invitation without the fancy ribbon and envelope for $300!! ( complete set )awsome right?? And I even found the ribbon I would love to use on it and make the same thing..... but I am sooooooo bad at that stuff.... my and my moh sat at my dining room table for hours with the sample invitation and rolls of ribbon trying to make it and it just wasnt coming out right. also the cost of the ribbon would add up and wind up costing a couple hundred more dollars

YEAH but I dont know if i want to do it.... the bows werent coming out right and its going to take sooooooo much ribbon and soooooooo much time doing them!! I need 100!!! I think the ribbon and time alone makes it worth it to just order the other ones.... if I knew how to make the bow the exact same and knew for a fact it would come out nice on each one that would be different... but I just cant do it

well if you can't do it, then you'll have to pay the extra $$$ to have it done the way you want. they are really pretty, but personally i would try to recreate something similar to save the ca$h and put it towards something else. i am one who believes one can have an simple, elegant invite that sets the tone for the event and does not cost an arm and a leg... i personally would rather take the $$$ and add a trumpet player to the band than tie a bow on my invite.

whatever you do, just do plenty of research and then you will be confident with your final choice! if it's important to YOU, go for it!

I just read Part 2. Let ME help you! (LOL!)

If I told you the things I spent MONTHS on you would probably think I was crazy. I cut out 300 fabric circles for my daughter's wine bottle favors and sewed a wire edge into the double thickness to get 150 of them. And we are still not done putting them together with the bottle stoppers, the Jordon almonds and the bows. In the meanwhile, I glued flowers onto the tops of 80 bottles of bath oil for her shower and added beautiful ribbon. That's just the beginning of everything we have done. My point is, if you love the end result, I suggest you get your mom, fmil, or any other friends together and give it another try. Someone else may have an idea to help you achieve the look you want. The satisfaction you will get is beyond words. Not to mention how nice it feels to know you are saving the money. (Sorry if I sound like I'm lecturing. I just hear your passion for these invitations and I hope you can have what you want.)
Again, good luck.

Definitely try to recreate the bow. I wanted my invitations tied with a bow and my mom is good at that and so we ordered the ribbon and did it in a few hours of one evening. The came out great and I didn't have to pay a lot

if you are crazy, then so is my mother...

she is making all the dresses, centerpieces and church decorations. i am taking care of the invites and FMIL is taking care of the jordon almonds... a lot of work, but the result will be priceless

your daughter is very lucky!

Soon2b, thanks for the FM. They are absolutely gorgeous, I have to say. Just one more thing for you to think about price-wise though... Square invitations always cost more to send due to the odd shape so this too will add to your cost.

That said, I'd personally go with the cheaper company and attempt the bows. Do you like the invitations themselves or is it really the bow that does it for you? I'm sure you can do it. I'm not crafty either but like september2004 said, you definitely have plenty of time to figure it out. Once you've got the method down, the rest will go quickly and smoothly. That way you'll be able to have what you want without the guilt.

thank you everyone! and LIMOM your daughter is VERY lucky!!!
Maybe I will give it one more shot with doing the ribbon myself.... the invitation itself is exactly the same without the ribbon and the matching border on the envelopes.

I feel your pain.

I'm going to order elite invites..not sure if your price included a diccount but a few vendors here offered 30% off your elite order. Aslo the wesbite princessweddinginvitations.com has them discounted too.

I hope that helps

You are so very sweet. If you found cheaper invitations that are exactly the same, then it definitely is worth trying to copy the bow. The ribbon doesn't have to be the same quality for it to look good. Remember, no one else has seen the original so you are the only one comparing it to the expensive one. I can't wait for you to post 'your' invitation. I'm sure it will look great.
