My dress came in last week so I went on Tuesday to try it on and pay it off. I started trying on veils at the bridal salon and chose one that I love! They wanted $225 for it! I'd rather not even wear a veil than spend that much. Any suggestions on where I can go to get one cheaper? I don't want to buy one online because I want to try them on. Thanks girls!

That sounds pretty reasonable to me. All the places i've looked are like 5-700 :( !!!! Try Barrons :)

and 200ish isnt even that expensive for a store-bought veil, i've seen some for $500-1500+++ but you can get one custom made at Barrons for way less (mine was 60)

yeah very true. I saw one veil i loved in a bridal store and they said $1800 lol. I ended up going to a veil shop in the village, i bought a cathedral veil plus an elbow length that were both attached to 1 come so i was able to detach one whenever i wanted. It was $300 for both. Compared to other places it wasnt bad.
You can get it for less but $200's is average. Definitely try barrons

Burton's had some really good prices too (in Huntington)...a lot of theirs were in the $100 range.

For a bridal store, that's not that bad of a price actually. If you know what you want, go to Barron's and see if they can make it for cheaper, it's worth a shot. That's where I got mine, they made me a cathedral length mantilla veil and it was $350, worth every penny. Price was that much because of the length and the type of lace I chose. Remember, the price will depend (amongst other things) on what type of veil you're getting, the more adornment on it, the material used and the longer it is, the more expensive it will be no matter where you get it.
That sounds reasonable... Someone I know just spent $800 (which i think is insane). I got mine at Paradise Bridal in Patchogue and its $150. I didn't want an expensive one either cause I am taking it off right after the church!

I agree with you - I think the price of veils is ridiculous. It's a piece of TULLE for pete's sake. I think even $75 is a lot, honestly.
Barron's has some nice ones but there is another booth at tricounty, in the back, that had a ton for $30-$50. Look there too.

barron's...$170(cash) for headband and veil....it was supposed to be more...but bring the cash, and it will go further! Good Luck!
